High-Resolution Drone Inspections and Rapid Data Processing
Our drone survey stockpile measurement services allow us to produce high-resolution aerial imagery, accurate volumes, and a cost-effective survey process for several industries, including mines, construction, aggregate operations, quarry, earthworks, etc. By utilizing cutting-edge drone photogrammetry technology and stereo imagery, projects are able to receive imagery with approximately 2 cm resolution, allowing for surface modeling and accurate volume computations.
Drone Pilots Network (DPN) is the global network of certified drone pilots we use in order to serve our clients all over the world with maximum efficiency. The fixed-wing drones are able to produce a lot of images per flying hour, making them perfect for huge mines, quarries, construction projects, and stockpile measurement while lowering the cost of surveying.
Drone Mapping Workflow allows the use of PPK or RTK positioning, which allows you to collect highly-accurate data with minimal need for GCPs. However, where even more accurate data and quality control are needed, Ground Control Points (GCPs) can be included in the survey workflow.
Accurate Stockpile Volume Calculation Using Drone Stereo Data
The stereo images captured by drones are analyzed to create Digital Surface Models (DSMs) and Mass Points, which describe the shape of the stockpile. A boundary of the stockpile is created as a vector to precisely outline the base edge of the stockpile. The outlined stockpile boundary is integrated with the DSM and elevation to measure the volume of the material inside.
This procedure gives an opportunity to conduct stockpile volume calculation through a repeatable and effective process of inventory management and material reconciliation. This process is more efficient than traditional ground survey, which requires time to survey a huge area and collect data for further analysis.
