Y-axis

The Y-axis, also known as the vertical axis, is one of the two fundamental axes used in a coordinate system to represent data on a graph or chart. It runs vertically from the bottom to the top of the graph and typically displays the dependent variable, or the value that changes in response to another variable plotted along the horizontal X-axis. Every point on a graph has a corresponding Y-coordinate that determines its vertical position, indicating how high or low it appears relative to the origin. The scale of the Y-axis is divided into equal intervals, allowing values to be measured and compared accurately.
