A Digital Terrain Model (DTM) is a three-dimensional digital representation of the Earth's bare surface that accurately depicts ground elevations after removing features such as buildings, trees, and other vegetation. It is created using advanced data collection techniques, including LiDAR, photogrammetry, drone surveys, and satellite imagery. DTMs provide detailed elevation information that is essential for Geographic Information Systems (GIS), engineering, and environmental studies. They are widely used to analyze terrain characteristics such as slope, aspect, contours, watersheds, drainage patterns, and landforms.
